I did email him for news of his and his family’s condition, and was relieved to get an answer (on the forum as well). But I didn’t realize just how harrowing the experience was; I wouldn’t have expected him to write a lengthy mail under those circumstances. Thanks for linking to this!

My heart goes out to George and his family; like many other civilians, he and his family are pawns in a power conflict that is ambiguous and unnecessary.
