Wow, you really hit the spot. Us peasants don’t have the right to judge the great white man.

The class war is never more clear than when viewed through the lens of Hollywood! The entire industry is based on exceptionalism, the drive to be the best, to leave that working class life behind and to become something better, untouchable, free of the petty details that bother the mere peasantry.

I do not defend him. And if he gets under the US jurisdiction, he will be sentenced or not. Who knows.

My point is, that it is his human right to run away. No matter what me or others might think or how upsetting it is. We will either hunt him or we will let him go. He has luck or he doesnt. And he also has to live with it.

I think this is very, very spot on. I am somewhat shocked at hearing otherwise intelligent people defend Polanski with a straight face. It has been established that the man is guilty, beyond any reasonable doubt — so any defense of him *has* to be a dressed up version of “he makes movies, so we should pardon his crime”.

Yeah, I guess you can say that it’s “human” to be a fugitive, just as I suppose it can also be said that drugging and rapping a teenager is also “human.” (you don’t see many other species doing it) Human doesn’t always mean right.

Hello,

my moral integrity here and yours there, i think, we both can decide to run away from our crimes. No one knows, what those were. But we decided to run away, it was our decision since and then.

And we have started to live with it.

That is why i have got told by family, books, friends, people, earlier or later certain things might come back to me. A warning. A threat. But its no destiny.

My own moral instance is being built. Whats right, whats wrong, can i live with that.

So, can he live that way? He does. Will he continue to live that way? I do not know.

But it remains his decision. Who am i to tell him, what to do?

It is in my eyes his human right to run away from charges.

No matter how high i raise the fist and expecting, he will not face me and i recognize him.
