it’s really bordering on tragic that a fairly established politician can, in all seriousness, make such an ignorant statement. it reminds me of when top members of FBI and congressmen/women that were sitting on intelligence committees did not know the difference between Sunni and Shiite Muslims when asked. That they seem to be operating in total ignorance is altogether frightening.
The other tragic element in all this has to do with how many people AGREE with such inane drivel. And they don’t even have the imagination to see the situation reversed – to see, for example, some nutcase wanting to target their neighbourhood church.
Nuke’em till they glow!
In case you missed it, they ARE trying to kill us…DUH!
Oh Lawd, not another one.
Mecca and Medina are in Saudi Arabia, which is one of America’s Middle-eastern allies. Nice deterrant: “if you attack us, we’ll spend millions of dollars to give you more recruits than you can possibly train, alienate all but the most slavish of our allies and prove all of your propaganda.”
I don’t know about you, but it would make me think twice. I mean, what terrorist could possibly want large-scale disorder in the Middle-east, an enraged global Islamic community and a politically isolated America?
Maybe Tancredo is just an “alias” for Bin Laden. Who knows. Plastic surgery can do wonders these days. ROLFMAO. 😉
I don’t look like Monica Bellucci either 😦
As for Tancredo, the problem isn’t that people say such hateful things, it’s that other people listen to them.
Hey there, just wanted to say, followed you over from Feministe, and I just love your blog.
