But, at the very least, I’ve accomplished this.
Thanks to Esra’a, and Happy New Year, especially to us lady-tramps who seem to have nowhere to go.
The sky is high. The Czar is far.

On the (bizarre and irrelevant) assumption that god(s) exist, what on earth makes you think he/she/they/it/moo is merciful? If it is merely the contrast to the ‘evil in human hearts’, you are falling into the same logical fallacy as Descartes’ ontological argument for his/her/their/its/moo’s existence….
And why is it ironic that the country that is seen in a huge part of the world as the great satan makes you think about divinity? The reasons for that nickname are not just its position of political power, but also its insane religious fundamentalism. If one sees (evangelical) christianity as evil, then the US is clearly the great satan, as long as one is coming from a (alternate) religious point of view. By neglecting that aspect, I think you’re falling into the nonsensical ‘clash of civilizations’ argument.
Humanity is generally about accumulating useless knowledge, shitting on each other and lots and lots of killing. Very inspiring, especially if you are American. Or (mass) religious.
Happy new (christian) year!
