In a bar the other night

Someone asked me about jet-lag, and I was stupid enough to say that I’m “totally fine.” Now I’m up at three a.m., listening to the sound of footsteps on the pavement outside my window. Say what you want about this neighbourhood (and I’ve said a lot, over the years), the footsteps here always sound exceptionally romantic (coupled as they are with wind from the cemetary).

  1. Dear natalia. I hope you have plenty of opportunities to sleep on the road trip – how long will you be stuck in the car for?!

  2. When I was in Turkey dealing with jet lag with a hungry 4 year old and husband, I made pancakes at 3am from the instant pancake mix I stowed away in the stroller that no one seemed to notice!! The maplesyrup was a nice touch, too bad customs is too anal now to be able to take it with us again.

  3. We were stuck in the car for two days… I definitely accomplished some driving, and there was goulash on the road, so it wasn’t all horrible.

    Pancakes would be nice… 😦
