Susan Boyle on Britain’s Got Talent

Here.

Isn’t she lovely? Isn’t she wicked? I think we needed her.

I don’t care if this is one of those “good television” moments that people like me are supposed to sneer at.

I am of the opinion (not a very humble opinion) that few things are better than a joyous woman with a sad song in her. Somebody needs to get on their game and write a novel about this already.

  1. I blogged about this a few days ago. Their dismissive attitude before she’d even done her bit made me furious. The link you gave didn’t work unfortunately so I found it again here because…..

The girl in the audience (1:24) ? Someone need to give that little madam a slap.

  2. Yeah, you’re right. It just ticks me off no end that the ones mocking are invariable not good enough to mock their target’s shoes….but isn’t that how all bullies operate?

  3. LOL I meant ‘lick their target’s shoes’.

Always ensure brain is in gear before engaging the keyboard! 😛

  4. I’m a sucker for Cinderella/Ugly Duckling fairy tale stories, and when I read about this in our German newspaper (which compared her to Paul Potts), I immediately checked out YouTube to see what it was all about.

It’s interesting to see that a similar situation involving two very different people invokes a different reaction in me – Paul Potts moved me to tears, Susan Boyle has me laughing triumphantly with her. What a gal!

  5. That was amazing! I had heard about it and I wanted to see it. As soon as she started singing, I literally burst into tears.

    I. Don’t. Fraking. Cry. EVER.

But damn, I just felt the swell of emotion because she proved all of them wrong. It was so satisfying! There was a lot of power in that tender song. Just, wow. She was awesome and she totally had me at the hip shake.

  6. Thanks for visiting my blog and it shows up in your widget of “Possibly Realted Blogs too! We all need a “feel good” television moment, but they found a 12 year old kid for this week so I guess we will now have to sneer again.

    Dobre Noche

  7. Ugh! Maureen Callahan from NY post is claiming Simon Cowell made this whole thing up. NY post is a publication known for it’s journalistic integrity *sarcasm*
